| Listeria are Gram-positive bacilli and are widespread in the environment. It can be found in soil, dust, mud, vegetation, silage, sewage and most animals. It has been found in 5% or more of normal healthy people, usually in the gut. It has the unusual characteristic of being able to grow, albeit slowly, at temperatures as low as 0°C. There are several different subtypes of L. monocytogenes (the main cause of disease) and L. innocua, which is very similar but apparently do not cause disease in man. | | | Catalog # | L2650-09D | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA.
