| Lysyl oxidase (LOX) is an extracellular enzyme that is critical for the normal biosynthesis of collagens and elastin. LOX is synthesized as a 50kD precursor, secreted into the extracellular matrix and subsequently proteolytically processed to a 30kD active enzyme and an 18kD propeptide. LOX also reverts ras-mediated transformation and its expression is down-regulated in human cancers. Most recently, the lysyl oxidase pro-peptide (LOPP) has been associated with tumor suppression, as it inhibits ras-dependent cellular transformation. | | | Catalog # | L3421-15 | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Immunohistochemistry: 0.5-1ug/ml | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Positive Control | MC3T3-E1 lysate | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Mouse | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 0.1% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | A synthetic peptide derived from an internal region of the mouse protein (residues 78-115). | | Specificity | Recognizes the mouse pro-enzyme (50kD) and pro-peptide. The pro-peptide runs at ~18-20kD when not glycosylated and ~35kD on SDS-PAGE when N-glycosylated. Species Crossreactivity: human, rat, primate and porcine. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
