Clone Host Grade Applications
Monoclonal Mouse Affinity Purified B IH
Luciferase from the firefly has become one of the more widely used reporter proteins for the study of gene expression. Luciferase catalyzes a bioluminescent reaction which requires the substrate luciferin as well as Mg2+ and ATP. Mixing these reagents with the cell extract containing luciferase, results in a flash of light that decays rapidly. This light can be detected by a luminometer. The total light emission is proportional to the luciferase activity of the sample
Catalog #L5999-04
ApplicationsSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionsWestern Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml detects 5ng of recombinant luciferase that was added to 3T3 cell lysate. 3T3 cell lysate containing 5ng of recombinant luciferase was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with L5999-04. Proteins were visualized using an IgG (HRP) goat anti-mouse and a chemiluminescence detection system.
Immunohistochemistry: This antibody has been used by an independent laboratory for qualitative and quantitative assessment of gene expression systems employing luciferase reporter constructs in Drosophila embryos.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Recommended Secondary AntibodiesI1904-06C: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt x Mo
I1904-06H: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt x Mo
