Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) is a potent hallucinogenic drug. It was first synthesized from
ergot, a grain fungus, and used for various psychiatric treatments. Effects of LSD are varied and unpredictable but include delusions, visual hallucinations, hypothermia, fever, uterine contractions, increased heart rate, anxiety and depression. LSD is not considered an addictive drug, but does produce tolerance, meaning users have to use progressively higher doses.
The typical dose is very small and metabolism is rapid and extensive. This makes testing for LSD use challenging.

Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
