Lysozymes are a group of bacteriolytic enzymes that participate in the destruction of bacteria, they are responsible for attacking the structure of the bacterial cell wall by catalyzing the hydrolysis of 1, 4-beta-linkages between N-acetylmuramic acid and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine residues in peptidoglycan.

Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
