Clone Host Grade Applications
Monoclonal Mouse Affinity Purified B IH
MAP2 is a type II microtubule associated protein (MAP). It is located predominately in dendrites where it accelerates tubulin polymerization, cross-links microtubule fibers into stable bundles, and connects microtubule filaments to intermediate filaments. Alternative splicing of MAP2 mRNA gives rise to at least three different isoforms including; MAP2a (280kD), MAP2b (200kD), and MAP2c (70kD). The MAP2c isoform is expressed in embryos, whereas the MAP2a and MAP2b isoforms are expressed in adult tissues. MAP2 is the somatodentritic MAP of neurons, but it also is expressed to a lesser extent in glia.
Catalog #M2350-02
ApplicationsSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionWestern Blot: 0.1-2ug/ml detects MAP2 in 20ug of rat brain microsomal protein preparation. Rat brain microsomal preparation was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with M2350-02 (0.5ug/ml). Proteins were visualized using an IgG (HRP) goat anti-mouse and a chemiluminescence detection system.
Immunohistochemistry: 10ug/ml detects MAP2 in rat brain sections.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Recommended secondary antibodiesI1904-06C: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt xMo
I1904-06H IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt xMo
I1904-06F: IgG, H&L (FITC) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt xMo
