| Melanoma Antigen Recognized by T cells (MART-1), a widely shared melanoma epitope, is a 118aa protein with an approximate molecular weight of 18kD. MART-1 is recognized by HLA-A2-restricted autologous and allogeneic tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes from patients with established melanoma. MART-1 is expressed by a large proportion of melanomas and also in human and murine melanocyte lineage cells derived from skin, uvea, and retina.
