Matrilin-4 is a widely expressed 73kD member of the Matrilin family of modular extracellular matrix proteins; it associates with collagen fibrils and is thought to link the fibrils with other matrix constituents. Mouse matrilin-4 contains four EGF domains between two von Willebrand Factor-A domain (vWA) domains. A C-terminal alpha-helix/coiled-coil region is often proteolytically removed so that Matrilin-4 is found as a mixture of monomers with dimers and trimers of Matrilin-1, -2 or -4 molecules. Mature mouse Matrilin-4 shows 90% amino acid identity with human Matrilin-4. A short isoform lacks the N-terminal vWA domain.

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Direct ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Western Blot: 1ug/ml, using recombinant human Matrilin-4, recombinant mouse Matrilin-4 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to Gln20-Asp499 (predicted) from human Matrilin-4, expressed in NS0 cells
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from PBS, pH 7.4, 5% trehalose. Reconstitute with 200ul sterile PBS.
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography from hybridoma culture supernatant
Specificity
Recognizes human Matrilin-4. Species Crossreactivity: mouse
