| 92-kD Type IV collagenase (MMP-9), a member of matrix metalloproteinases, is believed to play a critical role in physiological tissue-remodeling processes and also in many pathological conditions such as tumor invasion. The induction of proteolytic enzymes is an important mechanism in the migration of monocytes into tissues and body fluids (1). MMP-9 is secreted from neutrophils, macrophages, and a number of transformed cells in zymogen form (2). MMP-9/gelatinase B is upregulated in angiogenic dysplasias and invasive cancers of the epidermis in a mouse model of multi-stage tumorigenesis elicited by HPV16 oncogenes. MMP-9 is predominantly expressed in neutrophils, macrophages, and mast cells, rather than in oncogene-positive neoplastic cells (3). | | | Catalog # | M2425-09B | | Applications | Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry.
