| Murine macrophage/monocyte chemotactic protein-5 (MCP-5) is a member of the beta-chemokine family (C-C) of cytokines. This chemokine is strongly chemotactic for human monocytes and murine peritoneal macrophages, but is not active on mouse neutrophils and shows only a weak response on mouse eosinophils at high concentrations. Murine MCP-5 is a peptide of 9.2kD that consists of 82 amino acid residues. | | | Catalog # | M2750-19B | | Source | E. coli | | Form | Lyophilized protein with no additives. | | Stability | The lyophilized murine MCP-5, though stable at room temperature, is best stored desiccated below 0°C. Reconstituted murine MCP-5 should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C. | | Purity | Greater than 99% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng perug of (1EU/ug) of murine MCP-5. | | Reconstitution | The lyophilized murine MCP-5 is soluble in water and most aqueous buffers. The lyophilized protein can be reconstituted in water to a concentration of 1.0 mg/ml. This solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions or stored at -20°C for future use. | | Biological Activity | The biological activity of murine MCP-5 was determined by a chemotaxis assay using human peripheral blood monocytes. Significant chemotaxis was achieved using a concentration of 50 ng/ml. | | Usage | For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. | | Molecular Weight | 9.3kD | | Source | Murine | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
