P-glycoprotein is encoded by the MDR1 (ABCB1) gene. It is a member of the ABC superfamily of ATP-binding cassette transporters. Expression of P-glycoprotein is associated with ATP-dependent transmembrane efflux of chemically diverse compounds from the cell. It is the major component of multidrug resistance in human tumors.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionWestern Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml
Immunohistochemistry (paraffin, frozen): 1-2ug/ml. Boiling sections is required
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
