| This gene is a member of the MER/AXL/TYRO3 receptor kinase family and encodes a transmembrane protein with two fibronectin type-III domains, two Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains, and one tyrosine kinase domain. Mutations in this gene have been associated with disruption of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) phagocytosis pathway and onset of autosomal recessive retinitis pigmentosa (RP). | | | Catalog # | M2995-02 | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Tris-citrate/phosphate, pH 7 to 8 | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | The epitope recognized maps to a region between residues 200 and 250 of human c-mer proto-oncogene tyrosine kinase using the numbering given in SwissProt entry Q12866 (GeneID 10461). | | Specificity | Species Crossreactivity: Human. Other species have not been tested. Reactivity with mouse MerTK/c-Mer is possible owing to conservation of sequence between this ortholog and human MerTK/c-Mer at the site to which the epitope maps. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
