HLA-DR, like other MHC class II molecules, is a transmembrane glycoprotein composed of an a chain (36 kDa) and a beta chain (27kD). It is expressed primarily on antigen presenting cells such as B lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, thymic epithelial cells and activated T lymphocytes. Three loci, DR, DQ and DP, encode the major expressed products of the human class II region. The human MHC class II molecules bind intracellularly processed peptides and present them to T-helper cells. They therefore have a critical role in the initiation of the immune response.

Applications	Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions	Immunohistochemistry (Frozen and bouin or paraffin): 2-4ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT.

Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
