3-Methylcholanthrene induces high levels of cytochrome P450 1A1 and 1A2. Microsomes from normal Sprague Dawley rats, as well as rats that have been treated with a number of xenobiotic agents that have been reported to induce the expression of specific xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes. Control xenosomes (insect cells infected with baculovirus that does not contain an insert coding for any human drug metabolizing enzyme) are also available.
