| Murine anti-mitochondria monoclonal antibody produces a "spaghetti"-like staining pattern in the cytoplasm of normal and malignant human cells. It can be used to stain the mitochondria in cell or tissue preparations and can be used as a marker of the mitochondria in subcellular fractions. This monoclonal antibody is part of a new panel of reagents which recognize subcellular organelles or compartments of human cells. These markers may be useful in identification of these organelles in cells, tissues and biochemical preparations. | | | Catalog # | M3985 | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml for 2 hours at RT. | | Immunohistochemistry:(formalin/paraffin) 1-2ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Positive Control | | | HeLa cells, Liver | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG1 | | Clone No | 0.N.424 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~0.2mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in 10mM PBS, pH 7.4, 0.2% BSA, 0.09% sodium azide. Also supplied without BSA and sodium azide. See M3985X. | | Purity | Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Semi-purified mitochondrial preparation. Cellular Localization: | | Cytoplasmic. | | Specificity | Recognizes a human 60kD non-glycosylated protein component of mitochondria found in human cells. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
