Multidrug resistance-associated protein 9 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ABCC12 gene. This gene is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters and the encoded protein contains two ATP-binding domains and 12 transmembrane regions. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intracellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies: ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, and White. This gene is a member of the MRP subfamily which is involved in multi-drug resistance. This gene and another subfamily member are arranged head-to-tail on chromosome 16q12.1. Increased expression of this gene is associated with breast cancer.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionsWestern Blot: 1:20-1:50
Immunohistochemistry (Acetone fixed frozen): 1:20, followed by incubation with RbxRt IgG and a monoclonal rat APAAP complex. Alternatively after incubation with M4688-39A and washing, slides can be incubated with RbxRt IgG (Biotin) and streptavidin conjugated to HRP.
Immunocytochemistry : 1:20-1:50 on acetone fixed cytospin preparations.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
