| Mucin and cadherin-like protein (MUCDHL), also known as mu-protocadherin, is a 110kD type I transmembrane protein that is both O- and N-glycosylated. It is a calcium-dependant cell adhesion protein in the cadherin superfamily. MUCDHL is found on intestinal and renal epithelium. Human MUCDHL extracellular domain (ECD) contains four cadherin domains (aa71-459) plus several mucin domains (aa540-645). Alternate splicing creates four isoforms that differ in their mucin domains.
