| Myelin basic protein accounts for approximately 30% of proteins in myelin from the central nervous system. It is best known for its capacity to induce experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE), a T-lymphocyte mediated disease due to delayed-type hypersensitivity. Although each species of animals appears to respond to a different fragment of the 170aa polypeptide. Myelin basic protein is expressed in oligodendrocytes, myelin of white matter in the brain, spinal cord and in peripheral nerves. | | | Catalog # | M9758-01T | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry.
