Myogenin is a muscle-specific transcription factor that can induce myogenesis in a variety of cell types in tissue culture. It is a member of a large family of proteins related by sequence homology, the helix-loop-helix (HLH) proteins. Myogenin is essential for the development of functional skeletal muscle (1). Thus, it is involved in muscle differentiation as a myogenic factor, and it also induces fibroblasts to differentiate into myoblasts (2).

ApplicationsSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Western Blot: 1:1000-1:10,000
Immunohistochemistry: 100-1:250
Flow cytometry: 1:10-1:100
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
