NADPH oxidases (NOXs) catalyze the transfer of electrons from NADPH to molecular oxygen to generate reactive oxygen species. NOXO1 is a NOX organizer that targets NOX activator to NOX1 and also targets NOX1 to different subcellular compartments. NOXO1 is highly expressed in colon epithelium.
