| Nanog is one of the molecular markers suitable for recognizing the undifferentiated state of stem cells in the mouse and human. It is a divergent homeodomain protein that directs propagation of undifferentiated ES cells. Nanog mRNA is present in pluripotent mouse and human cell lines, and absent from differentiated cells. Nanog-deficient ES cells lose pluripotency and differentiate into extraembryonic endoderm lineage. | | | Catalog # | N0019-01D | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Mouse | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | As reported | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | A synthetic peptide which maps to a region between residues 250 and the C-terminus (residue 305) of mouse Nanog homeobox using the numbering given in TrEMBL entry Q80Z64 (GeneID 71950). | | Specificity | Specific for mouse Nanog protein. Reactivity with human Nanog is unlikely owing to divergence of sequence between this ortholog and mouse Nanog at the site to which the epitope maps. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
