Nanos2 is a cytoplasmic RNA-binding protein that belongs to the Nanos family of translational repressors. The 138 amino acid (aa) protein contains a 55 aa nanos-type zinc finger domain with two C2HC motifs. Human and mouse Nanos2 share identity 75% aa sequence identity overall but 95% within the zinc finger RNA binding domain. In the mouse, Nanos2 is located in male germ cells and is essential for spermatogenesis.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in Direct ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionDirect ELISA: 0.5-1.0ug/ml detection limit for rhNanos2 is ~ 2.5ng/well.
Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml detection limit for rhNanos2 is ~ 5ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
