| Nephrin (Renal glomenelus specific adhesion receptor) is a kidney glomerular filtration barrier protein that is an essential component of the interpodocyte-spanning slit diaphragm. Nephrin is located only in visceral glomerular epithelial cells, where it is targeted to intercellular junction of mature podocyte foot processes (1).
