| Neurogranin is a 78 amino acid neuron-specific substrate of protein kinase C that accumulates predominantly in dendritic shafts and spines of neurons. Immunoreactive neurogranin has been detected in many brain regions but is particularly abundant in the mammaliam forebrain.
