Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and RIA. Synthetic NPY completely abolishes radio-labeled NPY binding to NPY antibody in RIA and antibody binding to tissue antigen. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Immunohistochemistry: 1:5000 on rabbit and guinea pig using an ABC detection method. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Synthetic NPY peptide conjugated to bovine thyroglobulin
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder. No preservatives added. Reconstitute with 100ul of sterile ddH2O.

Specificity
Recognizes bovine Neuropeptide Y (NPY). |Synthetic Peptide Crossreactivity: somatostatin-14, leu-enkephalin, met-enkephalin, oxytocin, Agr8-vasopressin, vasoactive intestinal peptide, angiotensin II: <0.005%. Substance P: <0.02%. Peptide YY: ~36%. Bovine pancreatic polypeptide: ~0.05%. Human Peptide YY shares 65% homology amino acid sequence for human NPY. Species Crossreactivity: rabbit and guinea pig.
