| NKX3.1, a 234aa tumor suppressor protein, is a novel member of NK Class of Homeodomain proteins. It is a human homolog of NK3 (Drosophila) and Nkx3.1 (Mouse) and consists of a highly conserved DNA-binding Homeodomain. It plays a vital role in prostrate epithelial cell development, differentiation and carcinogenesis. Its expression is androgen-regulated and has growth suppression and differentiation effects in prostrate epithelial cells. It acts as a transcriptional repressor of PSA promoter by interacting with Prostrate-derived Ets factor. Its role has also been implicated in growth of testicular epithelial cells. It is specifically expressed in prostrate and testis & loss of expression has been detected in prostrate carcinomas, prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia and testicular cancers of germ cell origin. | | | Catalog # | N2850-30N | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot.
