| NT-3 is a neurotrophic factor structurally related to NGF, BDNF, and NT-4. These proteins belong to the cysteine-knot family of growth factors that assume stable dimeric structures. NT-3 is expressed by neurons of the central nervous systems and can signal through the trk receptors. NT-3 promotes the growth and survival of nerve and glial cells. The amino acid sequences of human, murine and rat NT-3 are identical. Recombinant human NT-3 is a noncovalently linked homodimer, of two 13.6kD polypeptide monomers (238 total amino acid residues). | | | Catalog # | N5401A | | Biological Activity | A 1:200 fold dilution of a 1 mg/ml antibody solution will give satisfactory reactivity in a direct ELISA assay when 1ug/well human NT-3 is used to coat the plate. | | Reconstitute in 100 µl of water for each 100ug of antibody to obtain a solution of 1 mg/ml antibody in PBS. This solution can be diluted into buffered solutions or stored at -20°C for future use. It is recommended that a range of dilutions be utilized in preliminary experiments to determine optimal concentrations for use of this antibody. For most applications, the reconstituted anti-NT-3 should be diluted between 1 | 100 to 1:1000 fold. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C.
