Nucleolar Protein xNopp180 is a constitutively expressed nucleolar component and a specific marker for the dense fibrillar component of the interphase nucleolus.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, Immunoblot (Western), Immunofluorescence microscopy and Immunohistochemistry (frozen sections, also after fixation with paraformaldehyde)
Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 1:50 (ECL method)
Immunohistochemistry: 1:5-1:10; Incubation time 1 hr at RT.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

ImmunogenNucleolar fraction prepared from Xenopus laevis oocytes.
SpecificityStains specifically the nucleolus and Cajal bodies in interphase cells. Recognizes 180kD polypeptide in Xenopus (xNopp180), homolog to the rat polypeptide (Nopp140). When applied at high concentration to human cells the antibody reacts with a nucleolar component which, however, does not correspond to xNopp180. Species Crossreactivity: Xenopus laevis, Xenopus borealis, XLKE-A6 cells; negative with Pleurodelis, Triturus, Rana, chicken, rat, mouse.
