Kappa Opioid Receptor (KOR) is a 45kD 7TM opioid receptor that is primarily expressed in the central nervous system and peripheral visceral pain sensory nerves. Following ligation by dynorphin peptides, KOR signaling induces analgesia, dysphoria, diuresis, and increased feeding desire. KOR also exerts neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended DilutionsImmunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 15ug/ml detects human KOR in paraffin-embedded normal human medulla tissue sections.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Postive ControlHuman brainstem (medulla).
Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
