| Osteopontin is a 34kD extracellular matrix protein with a cell-binding domain. It was originally identified as a major component of the noncollagenous organic bone matrix however it has subsequently been demonstrated in a wide range of normal adult tissue and body fluids. It is a multifunctional protein involved in bone mineralization, cell adhesion, cell migration, chronic inflammatory disease and transformation. This antibody should prove useful in studying the expression of this matrix glycoprotein in tissue homeostasis. | | | Catalog # | O8064-04B | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 2-4ug/ml for 2 hrs at RT | | Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): 1:25. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Positive Control | Jurkat cells, Gastric carcinoma or Osteosarcoma | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | 0.1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in 10mM PBS, pH 7.6, 0.2% BSA and 15mM sodium azide, before the addition of glycerol to 40%. | | Purity | Purified by affinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | A synthetic peptide derived from internal domain of human Osteopontin. Cellular Localization: Cytoplasmic | | Specificity | Recognizes human Osteopontin.
