Ovalbumin comprises about 60% of the solids in chicken egg white. Native ovalbumin is a globular monomer of molecular mass 45kD (1). It is structurally related to both serpins and lipcalins.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in ELISA, Dot Blot and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionELISA: 1:6500; Strong reaction is seen with O8075-35 directly coated onto the microtiter well.
Dot Blot: 1:2000; Reacts with native and denatured Ovalbumin absorded onto nitrocellulose.
Western Blot: 1:2000; Reacts with Ovalbumin in reduced and unreduced forms after SDS-PAGE.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Culture MediumRPMI 1640 with 10% fetal calf serum.
HybridomaX63-Ag8.653 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c
mice.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
