Clone Host Grade Applications
Monoclonal Rabbit Supernatant IH
p53 protein is crucial to normal regulation of cell growth and is a suppressor of tumor cell proliferation. The gene encoding for p53 is located on chromosome 17p, a frequent site of allelic loss in many tumors. A high proportion of breast and colon carcinomas are positive for p53 and this expression correlates with poor prognosis in breast cancer. This antibody recog- nizes both wild type and mutant forms of p53 protein under denaturing and non-denaturing conditions.
