| p53 protein is crucial to normal regulation of cell growth and is a suppressor of tumor cell proliferation. The gene encoding for p53 is located on chromosome 17p, a fre- quent site of allelic loss in many tumors. A high propor- tion of breast and colon carcinomas are positive for p53 and this expression correlates with poor prognosis in breast cancer. This antibody recognizes both wild type and mutant forms of p53 protein under denaturing and non-denaturing conditions. | | | Catalog # | P1001-26N4 | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
