| Pituitary adenylate cyclase activating peptide (PACAP), originally isolated from ovine hypothalamus, belongs to the VIP-family of peptides. It occurs in two biologically active forms, PACAP-38 and PACAP-27. PACAP is abundant in the brain, but can be also found in the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts. Absorption with 10-100ug immunogen per ml diluted antiserum abolishes the staining, while PRP, VIP, PHI, CRF, oxytocin and vasopressin do not. | | | Catalog # | P1775-03 | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence Microscopy and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Immunofluorescence Microscopy (Frozen sections): 1:400-1:800 with overnight incubation at 4°C. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Positive Control | Stefanini-fixed frozen sections of rat duodenum or hypothalamus. | | Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile 40-50% glycerol, ddH2O. Aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Concentration | Not determined | | Form | Supplied as a lyophilized powder.
