Paxillin is a focal adhesion protein and a substrate for several tyrosine kinases such as src, FAK, and p210BRC/ABL. The tyrosine phosphorylation of paxillin is affected by conditions that change cell-cell adhesion. Paxillin associates tightly with FAK and Crk through its SH2 domain. This interaction is independent of the extracellular matrix. Although paxillin was initially discovered in fibroblasts, its phosphorylation may also be important during neurite extension during differentiation.

Applications	Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions	Immunoprecipitation (Use Protein G): 2ug/mg protein lysate; Native verified
	Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml for 2 hours at RT
	Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): 1-2ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 1mM EDTA, pH 8.0, for 10-20 minutes followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes.
	Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
