Clone Host Grade Applications
Polyclonal Rabbit Affinity Purified B
The recently discovered adipocytokine PBEF is a visceral fat specific protein which has been shown to exert insulin-mimetic effects in insulin-sensitive tissues such as liver, muscle and fat. PBEF can bind to the insulin receptor and PBEF plasma levels increase with obesity. Based on their properties, adipocytokines are likely to play critical roles in metabolic syndromes such as obesity and diabetes.
Catalog #P3113-97D2
ApplicationsSuitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

PurityPurified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
ImmunogenA synthetic peptide which maps to a region between residues 400 and 450 of human pre-B-cell colony enhancing factor 1 using the numbering given in Swiss-Prot entry P43490 (GeneID 10135).
SpecificitySpecific for human PBEF protein. Species Crossreactivity: mouse and canine. Other species have not been tested. Reactivity with X. laevis PBEF is likely owing to complete identity between this ortholog and human PBEF at the site to which the epitope maps.
