Peptone is an enzymatic digest of protein used to cultivate non-fastidious organisms, producing low-level growth. Deficient in carbohydrates, cystine and tryptophan.

Certificate of OriginThe raw animal products and enzymes, porcine tissue, used in the manufacturing of Peptone is derived from meat materials originating in the USA. During processing of the product, a batch is heated to a minimum of 80°C for at least 1 hour, including a minimum of 5 minutes at a minimum 105°C. The product is dried at a minimum 140°C. Note: Higher temperatures are injurious to the integrity of gelatin peptone.
