| Peripherin is a 57kD type III intermediate filament that is a specific marker for peripheral neurons, including enteric ganglion cells. Peripherin is expressed in the developing peripheral nervous system and is highly enriched in neuronal derivatives of the neural crest. Peripherin offers an advantage over other neural markers, such as S100 and NSE in that it does not stain chrmaffin cell types. | | | Catalog # | P3345-01R | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilutions | Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml for 2 hours at RT | | Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): 1:400 for 10 minutes at RT. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10 minutes followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Positive Control | Rat brain, small bowel, peripheral nerves and ganglion cells | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | | CAS Number | N/A | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~0.1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 0.2% BSA, 0.05% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by affinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Recombinant protein corresponding to aa265-471 of human Peripherin. Cellular Localization: Cytoplasmic | | Specificity | Recognizes human peripherin at ~57kD. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
