Clone Host Grade Applications
Polyclonal Rabbit Affinity Purified IH
Phosphodiesterase 1C (PDE1C) is a subtype of the PDE1 enzyme. PDE1C is activated by calmodulin binding in the presence of calcium, and degrades the cyclic nucleotides cAMP and cGMP. A number of PDE1C isoforms exist, each with different affinities for cAMP and cGMP. They have a range of molecular weights from 65-70kD. PDE1C is a major regulator of smooth muscle cell (SMC) proliferation in humans, and plays an important role in the development of organs containing smooth muscle. PDE1C may also have a role in olfaction, regulation of sperm function and neuronal signaling.
Catalog #P4071-99D
Inhibition of PDE1C may prove beneficial in the treatment of diseases such as atherosclerosis and pulmonary hypertension where excessive SMC proliferation occurs.
