| Phosphorylated serine (phosphoserine) is an alpha amino acid that together with phosphothreonine is one of the most ubiquitously modified amino acids in proteins. Many hormones, such as adrenaline (epinephrine), alter the activities of enzymes by stimulating the phosphorylation of serine and threonine, and these can have profound effects on cellular signal transduction, apoptosis and carcinogenesis. | | | Catalog # | P4076-10J2 | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilutions | ELISA: 1:5000 | | Western Blot: 1:500. For the detection of phosphoproteins, serine phosphatase inhibitors such as 10mM sodium fluoride should be added to the sample buffer. Milk or other casein-based blocking solutions are not recommended as casein is a a phosphoprotein and its use can result in a high background. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Labeled with horseradish peroxidase (HRP). Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. HRP conjugates are sensitive to light. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | |
