| Pim2, a 311aa containing protein, belongs to a family of protooncogenes that encode serine/threonine protein kinases. Experiments carried out on knockout mice suggest that a deficiency in Pim2 leads to profound reduction of body size and non efficient proliferation of peripheral T lymphocytes. This enzyme not only regulates the stability of SOCS1 protein but has a role in phosphorylating the proapoptotic protein BAD on serine 112, which accounts in part for its ability to reverse Bad-induced cell death. Pim2 also has an important role in proliferating cells, cell life, cell cycle, and cell division as well as during meiosis. Pim2 is highly expressed in hematopoietic tissues, in leukemic and lymphoma cell lines, testis, small intestine, colon and colorectal adenocarcinoma cells. | | | Catalog # | P4186-62F | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA.
