Polyvinylpyrrolidone is a synthetic polymer consisting of linear 1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidinone groups. PVP9 is characterized by its viscosity in aqueous solution, expressed as K value. It is used in pharmaceutical manufacturing as well as in plant and embryo tissue culture as a solubilizer and complexing agent.
