| Transthyretin is the fastest protein in the immunoelectrophoresis pattern of human serum. It | | | consists of four identical polypeptide chins with no carbohydrate. The molecular weight is | | | 55000 and the concentration in normal serum ranges from 100 to 400ug/ml. It can bind | | | thyroxine and retinal and its concentration is reduced in severe liver diseases. | | | Catalog # | P6000-02H | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoelectrophoresis and single and double radial immunodiffusion. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Immunoelectrophoresis: 2ml plasma or equivalent against 120ml antiserum | | Double Radial Immunodiffusion: Use a rosette arrangement with 10ml antiserum in 3mm | | diameter center well and 2ml plasma samples (neat and serially diluted) in 2mm diameter | | peripheral wells. | | Single Radial Immunodiffusion: 1% in the gel. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Porcine | | Source | Human | | Concentration | Not determined | | Form | Supplied as a lyophilized powder. Preservative free. Reconstitute with 1ml sterile ddH2O. Dilute further in PBS, pH 7.2. | | Purity | Serum | | Immunogen | Transthyretin isolated from pooled normal human serum. | | Specificity | Recognizes human transthyretin (prealbumin). | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
