| Proprotein Convertase 9 encoded by the PCSK9 gene, (PC9 or NARC1 for neural apoptosis-regulated convertase-1), regulates cholesterol trafficking by controlling the plasma levels of LDL receptors. Different mutations in PCSK9 are associated with either elevated or reduced plasma levels of LDL-cholesterol. Human PCSK9 consists of a pro domain (aa29-152) and a mature chain (aa153-692). | | | Catalog # | P9052-29 | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and ELISA. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilutions | Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml. Using a colorimetric detection system, the detection limit for recombinant mouse PC9 is ~50ng/lane under non-reducing conditions. Use under reducing conditions is not recommended. Chemiluminescent detection will increase sensitivity by 5-50 fold. | | Immunoprecipitation: 25ug/ml immunoprecipitates recombinant human and mouse PC9 from conditioned cell metdium. | | Direct ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml. The detection limit for recombinant mouse PC9 is ~5ng/well. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
