Clone Host Grade Applications
Monoclonal Mouse Affinity Purified E B IH
Protein C is a vitamin K-dependent serine protease produced in the liver and made up of 2 polypeptide chains. The 62kD proenzyme is activated by thrombin bound to an endothelial surface receptor and the active enzyme cleaves factor Va and VIIIa and thus inhibits blood coagulation. The molecular weight of the active enzyme is 55kD and the normal concentrations in human plasma is approximately 1-3ng/ml because of the very fast turnover, the proenzyme concentration is ~3ug/ml.
Catalog #P9102-29
ApplicationsSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionELISA: 1:4000. Strong reaction is seen in capture ELISA in combination with a biotin labeled antigen against Protein C only when using a tris-buffer containing 2.5mM CaCl2
Western Blot: After SDS-PAGE, reacts with protein C in non-reduced form only.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
