| A class of kinases that regulates an array of physiological processes and includes cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA), cGMP-dependent protein kinase, protein kinase C, Akt and RSK shares a substrate specificity characterized by arginine at position –3 relative to the phosphorylated Ser or Thr (1,2). These are referred to as Arg-directed kinases or AGC-family kinases. Phospho-(Ser/Thr) PKA Substrate Antibody provides a powerful new tool for investigating the regulation of phosphorylation by PKA and other Arg-directed kinases, as well as for high throughput kinase drug discovery. | | | Catalog # | P9103-11D | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 1:1000 | | Immunoprecipitation: 1:100 | | Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:100 | | ELISA: 1:500 | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Concentration | As reported | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in 10mM sodium HEPES, pH 7.5, 150mM sodium chloride, 0.1mg/ml BSA, 50% glycerol. | | Purity | Purified by protein A and peptide affinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Synthetic phospho- PKA substrate peptide. | | Specificity | Detects peptides and proteins containing a phospho-Ser/Thr residue with arginine at the -3 position. It is a useful tool in identifying new substrates of AGC family kinases, including PKA and PKC. It does not recognize the non-phosphorylated PKA substrate motif. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
