| Podoplanin, also called PA2.26 antigen, gp38, aggrus or T1a, is a type1 transmembrane sialomucin-type glycoprotein. It is specifically expressed by lymphatic endothelial cells but not blood vascular endothelial cells. Various carcinoma cells, as well as epithelial cells, keratinocytes and neuronal cells can also express the protein. Podoplanin is involved in cell adhesion and motility. The sialylated o-glycans on Podoplanin have been found to be required for Podoplanin-induced platelet aggregation. As a consequence of alternative splicing, an alternative isoform for human Podoplanin has been reported. Within the sequence included in this immunogen, human podoplanin shares 32% aa sequence identity with mouse podoplanin. | | | Catalog # | P9104-91K | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot.
