Specifications

PPM1G, as known as protein phosphatase 1G, is a member of the PP2C family of Ser/Thr protein phosphatases that is negative regulators of cell stress response pathways. This enzyme localizes to the cytoplasm and is widely expressed, with most abundant expression detected in testis, skeletal muscle and heart. It is necessary for the dephosphorylation of pre-mRNA splicing factors, which is an important process for the formation of the functional spliceosome. Purified by using conventional chromatography.

Biological ActivitySpecific activity: >3,000 units/mg. Enzymatic activity was confirmed by measuring the amount of enzyme hydrolyzing 1 nmole of p-nitrophenyl phosphate (pNPP) per minute at 25C, pH7.5 using 10mM of substrate.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
