| PTEN (phosphatase and tensin homologue deleted on chromosome ten)/MMAC (mutated in multiple advanced cancers) phosphatase is a tumor suppressor gene implicated in a wide variety of human cancers. PTEN encodes the 403 amino acid polypeptide originally described as a dual-specificity protein phosphatase. The main substrates of PTEN are inositol phospholipids generated by the activation of the phosphoinositide 3 kinase (PI3K). PTEN is a major negative regulator of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. PTEN possesses a C-terminal noncatalytic regulatory domain that contains three phosphorylation sites (Ser380, Thr382 and Thr383), which regulates its stability and could play an important role in control of its biological activity. | | | Catalog # | P9182-01A | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications have not been tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 1:1000 | | Immunoprecipitation: 1:50 | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
