| A component of conserved cellular machinery required for germ cell development, Pum2 is a human homolog of Pumilio, which helps maintain germ line stem cells in Drosophila and C. elegans. Pum2 forms a stable complex with DAZ through the same functional domain required for RNA binding and protein-protein interactions.
